Being installed as the 2020 President of the NC Home Builders Association was one of the greatest moments of my life. It was a very special occasion with many of my family members present and many of my special homebuilder member friends I have made over the last 25 years. The year did not go as I planned but it didn’t stop us from having a very successful year for the NC Home Builders Association. Mike Carpenter, Our Executive Vice President, Tim Minton Our Assistant Executive Vice President, the staff, and our leadership team quickly adapted to the issues we were facing as an industry and moved to make sure our members had the tools and information, they needed to not only keep their businesses open, supporting our communities but also being profitable at the same time. It was a rewarding experience for us.

Mike retired at the end of 2020 and Tim assumed the helm at NCHBA. These two men worked tirelessly together over the years serving our members and making sure there would be a seamless transition upon Mike’s retirement. I look forward to working with Tim as Immediate Past President.

Mike Carpenter, the Executive Officer for the NC Home Builders Association in one of his final acts as our EO sent me this wonderful write up of all the amazing things we were able to do for the home building industry in one of our worlds most challenging time. Thank you, Mike, it was an honor to serve with you in your last year as our EO. Enjoy retirement, time with Julia, your children and granddaughter and traveling but remember we have your part-time to continue our work for the home building industry.
