It’s been a while since we’ve caught up, so we wanted to share some exciting updates about our family and what’s been happening with us and the kids.
First off, in November, our son Sam popped the question to Jessie! They’re all set to tie the knot in April 2024 with a breathtaking wedding here in the Outer Banks. Right now, they’re living in Charlottesville, Virginia, and Sam is serving as the Executive Chef at Three Notch’d Craft Kitchen & Brewery. Meanwhile, Jessie is working at UVA and has recently decided to further her education. We’re absolutely thrilled to welcome Jessie into the Martin family!
As for Amanda and Rocky, they’ve spent the past year in sunny Florida as Amanda wrapped up her studies and became a Nurse Practitioner. Now, they’re back in Wilmington, North Carolina, as Amanda applies for jobs. Rocky, on the other hand, has been keeping busy writing for various publications and indulging his passion for fishing and boating. We’re beyond ecstatic to have them back in our neck of the woods!
Oh, and speaking of celebrations, Mark and I recently marked our 35th wedding anniversary on June 11, 2023. It was an incredible occasion filled with love and laughter, thanks to our wonderful friends and neighbors.
Last but not least, we’ve added a new member to our furry family – Mia! We brought her home in December when she was 11 months old. She’s an absolute sweetheart, although our older pup Layla (who’s almost 14!) took a little while to warm up to her. Now, they’re the best of friends!
