Sandmark Custom Homes: OBHBA 2016 Parade of Homes

OBHBA 2016 Parade of Homes

The OBHBA 2016 Annual Parade of Homes is open October 6 – 9, 2016, and Sandmark Custom Homes is pleased to showcase two (2) entries this year.

Sandmark Custom Homes has the record for most appearances in the OBHBA Parade of Homes. “This is our 20th,” says Mark Martin. “We’ve missed maybe three of them. Usually, it’s family-related if we don’t have at least one entry —taking kids to college and helping them get settled in or a wedding or birthday that coincides.”

What they have found, according to Mark, is that theParade of Homes gives people touring the homes a chance to know they are going to be there. “People see us year after year,” he says. “They may want to do something three or four years down the road, and by seeing us every year, they know we’ll be here.”

It’s also a chance to demonstrate the range of expertise Sandmark Custom Homes can offer clients. “We have two homes (in the Parade) this year A new home and a big remodel on Scarborough Lane.”

This year Sandmark Custom Homes has two homes in the Parade of Homes. A new home and a big remodel on Scarborough Lane. The new home can be found on Wax Myrtle Trail in Southern Shores, NC. Built for longtime friends from high school who live in Chesapeake, VA who wanted a rental home which would also accommodate their family of 3 college age young adults and grandparents. This home has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, a great room, kitchen with a pantry and laundry room, many decks, a 2 car garage, pool, hot tub and is within easy walking distance to the beach. The second entry is a remodel of Bella, located on Scarborough Lane in Duck, North Carolina.

Originally built in 2006, this rental home recently had a facelift, bringing a new look to an old love. Outside updates included new paint and a refresh of the existing pool. The existing fiberglass pool and concrete decking were replaced with a new concrete pool, pavers, Trex decking and a spiral staircase to the sundeck. The inside of the house was repainted, the kitchen renovated, new hardwood floors and new carpeting, new interior doors, updated lighting fixtures and new furniture.
