From the Archives: A Proud Family Feature

This month, we’re trading our usual From the Archives feature for something a little more personal — and something we are incredibly proud to share.

Our son-in-law, Rocky Damico, recently had his first article published with Marlin Magazine. Rocky has been writing for The Fisherman’s Post for the past decade, so seeing his work featured by Marlin Magazine feels like a really special milestone that we had to share with you.

Of course, writing is only one of the many things Rocky does well.

He is truly one of those people who seems to be good at just about everything. He fishes, surfs, writes, cooks some incredible meals, fixes everything just like Mark, and somehow manages to plan the kinds of trips and experiences everyone remembers for years afterward.

But as proud as we are of all of those things, what we love most is the way he shows up for his family. He is an incredibly hands-on, loving husband and father, and watching him with our grandson is one of our greatest joys. He puts so much thought and energy into creating experiences, making memories, and being fully present with the people he loves.

That is a big part of what makes this article so fun for us to share. Rocky has a genuine love for fishing, the water, and the Outer Banks, and he has a gift for telling those stories in a way that makes you feel like you were there.

His latest piece for Marlin Magazine takes readers offshore from Oregon Inlet and looks back at the incredible sailfish bite this past September — a story that feels especially fitting for someone who has spent so much of his life on and around the water.

Rocky, we are so proud of you — not only for this article and everything you continue to accomplish, but for the husband, father, son-in-law, and person you are. We feel pretty lucky to have you in our family.
