The beauty of this event is that all net proceeds stay here! Funds remain here on the Outer Banks and underwrite the campaigns and programs of The Outer Banks Hospital Development Council.
For the last 11 years, the community’s support for The Outer Banks Hospital’s Gala has been exceptional, helping to improve the lives of thousands of Outer Banks residents. Please take a look at some of the services, equipment, and programs that have funded through our annual dinner dance:
- 2016: The Health Coach and Funding for a Cancer Center on the Outer Banks
- 2011 – 2015: The Health Coach used for free wellness check-ups and health coaching
- 2010: Stereotactic biopsy equipment for diagnosing breast cancer
- 2009: An ultrasound machine, used in diagnosing ovarian & breast cancer
- 2008: A hematology analyzer, which analyzes blood samples
- 2008: The construction of a chemotherapy mixing room so patients can receive treatments close to home
- 2006 – 2007: Construction of the Cancer Resource Center
