The Outer Banks Hospital

Building on a history of inspiring better health in our community, Outer Banks Health is excited to embark on a journey in which the community can become more engaged in transformative wellness and prevention services on the Outer Banks, including the concepts of the Blue Zones.

This month, Outer Banks Health is bringing back the formal Gala, the first one since 2020. On March 23 at Duck Woods Country Club, Outer Banks Health will be Painting the Outer Banks Blue with food, beverages, mocktails, live music, dancing, and grand decorations, all inspired by the geographic regions of the five Blue Zones, but with an Outer Banks spin. Late-night tickets as well as raffle tickets for a five-night, round-trip Costa Rica vacation are still available. Learn more.

The term Blue Zones refers to places where entire communities live significantly longer, healthier and more active lives. A National Geographic study of Blue Zones around the world identified that, while these communities are very different and distant from one another, they all share important characteristics.
