March 12th, 2020. I cannot believe you have been gone for one-year Dad. This year has gone by so fast and has been filled with so many emotions that I have never felt before. I keep saying this happened so fast and I can’t believe it happened, but I am grateful that you aren’t in pain anymore.
We have missed you so much this past year, from your visits to the beach, family holidays together, Duke basketball games, watching golf on Sundays, you out playing golf, and talking to you while you are sitting on your houseboat on Lake Marion, SC with your favorite glass of red wine. But the biggest event we missed you at this past year was Mark’s installation as the 2020 President of the NC Home Builders Association. You played such a big role in our lives going into the home building industry. But we know you were watching down on us that night in Pinehurst, wishing you were there to play golf on an early December morning.
Mark and I keep remembering what you would always say to us, “You two work so hard, always remember to make time for each other”….so on March 12th, 2020 we plan to spend the day together, remembering YOU. We’ll probably enjoy dinner at one of your favorite Outer Banks restaurants, JK’s and have a nice steak and a glass of red wine!
