Local Business Spotlight: ThriveOBX

Thrive OBXThis month we’re excited to highlight ThriveOBX, a community well-being initiative rooted right here on the Outer Banks. Developed through a partnership between Outer Banks Health and the Dare County Department of Health & Human Services, ThriveOBX is designed to help residents and visitors embrace healthier, more fulfilling lifestyles through trusted guidance, practical tools, and engaging local programs. At its core is the Thrive5 framework — five pillars of well-being (Nourish, Move, Purpose, Engage, and Balance) that support everyday choices that improve both physical and mental health.

Rather than importing an outside program, ThriveOBX is built on local expertise and strong community partnerships, connecting people with existing resources like fitness groups, nutrition education, parks and recreation, and social events across Dare County. In February, ThriveOBX will launch its first Thrive Month, a month-long focus on wellness featuring activities, challenges, and opportunities to connect. Be sure to follow ThriveOBX on social media and keep an eye on the Sandmark newsletter for specific event details and ways to participate as Thrive Month approaches.
