Can’t Miss These Events!Outerbanks December Events

December brings some of the most magical moments of the year to the Outer Banks — twinkling lights, parades, a flotilla, and various celebrations that remind us why this community is so special. If you’re looking to get into the holiday spirit, there’s something happening almost every weekend across the beach!

Kick off the season in true small-town fashion as Manteo lights its beautiful Christmas tree downtown. Enjoy music from Lighthouse Brass Band, see Santa, a Gingerbread House Competition, and so much more.

Make plans to gather at the Town Park for holiday music provided by Sam on Sax, activities for the whole family, tasty treats provided by the Town and Duck’s Cottage, Coffee, & Books, tree lighting, and the arrival of Santa!

The annual Christmas Parade steps off at 10:30 AM, marching through Downtown Manteo with floats, performers, civic groups, and community organizations.

Shop local, support OBX makers, and find unique gifts at the Dowdy Park Holiday Market. From handmade crafts to seasonal treats, it’s a great place to cross a few names off your holiday list.

A true coastal celebration — watch brightly lit boats parade across the Manteo waterfront in this magical holiday flotilla. Bundle up and enjoy the glow reflecting off the water.

Get moving before the holiday feasting begins! The Holiday Hustle 5K brings festive fun to the course — costumes encouraged, holiday spirit guaranteed.

The Soundside Event Site transforms into a twinkling holiday market complete with vendors, music, food, and plenty of seasonal charm. A great stop for last-minute gifts or a night out with family.

Celebrate 122 years since the Wright Brothers made history right here on the Outer Banks with free admission. The anniversary ceremony at the Wright Brothers Memorial honors innovation, perseverance, and the birthplace of modern aviation.
